Teresa Dawson
Yoga Workshop Co-Facilitator
Yoga has been a part of Teresa’s life for 24 years. In the lifelong pursuit of learning and looking for a way to de-stress from a busy school schedule, Teresa stumbled into her first yoga class in 2000 and immediately fell in love with the physical and mental discipline of the practice. As yoga became a part of Teresa’s routine, she found it provided her with an accessible way of quieting her mind both on and off her mat as well as relieve any physical tensions and pain in the body. To further deepen her practice and understanding of asana, yoga principles, meditation, and mindful movement, Teresa completed her yoga teacher training in 2022 at Alchemy Wellness & Yoga Studio in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
She holds a diploma in Early Childhood Education as well as an honours degree in Sociology/ Criminology, is registered with the Canadian Yoga Alliance as a RYT-200hr yoga educator, and is currently undergoing her Yin Yoga certification.
Teresa offers gentle hatha and yin styles of yoga that focuses on the integration of breath, meditation, and mindful movements in a pain-free way through modified postures. Teresa’s wild heart and love for music brings a diverse playlist, connecting and observing elements of our natural world, and she aims to bring her students stillness, healing, smiles, and intuitive connection between the mind, body, and spirit to the mat.
When not on her mat, Teresa’s other favourite things to do is spending time in nature, strength training at the gym (movement is medicine), listening to music, cuddling with her dog, and sitting around a fire with her family and friends.
